Marrying a Saigonese (2005)

Tai, a young man from the countryside studying acting in Saigon, falls in love with Nhung, the daughter of a wealthy city family. Despite their different social backgrounds, the couple decides to get married. When Tai invites his farmer father, Ba Han, to Saigon to meet his future daughter-in-law, a series of hilarious misunderstandings unfolds. Unaware of her identity, Ba Han unexpectedly receives help from Nhung herself. The situation becomes even more complicated when the couple visits Tai's rural hometown, secretly followed by Nhung's protective parents. Amid cultural clashes and comic mishaps, the young lovers struggle to win both families' approval.
